Eligibility 
  • Individuals living or owning property within the Grayville city limits are eligible for a library card at no charge. 
  • Individuals living outside the Grayville city limits and within the Grayville School District are eligible for a library card with a nonresident fee.  The FY 2025-26 nonresident fee is $33, and covers an entire household for one calendar year from date of purchase.
  • Veterans with a 70% or greater service related disability are eligible for library card at no charge upon presenting proof of their service related disability.
  • Illinois' Cards for Kids Act allows students whose principal residence is not within a public library service area and whose household income makes them eligible to receive free or reduced price meals under the National School Lunch Program and the National School Breakfast Program, as determined by Income Eligibility Guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), to receive a library card for their use at no charge.
What do I need to get a library card? 

 

  • You will need to bring a valid driver's license or state ID with the correct address to obtain a library card.
What if I don't live within the Grayville city limits or the library's school district? 

Illinois law does allow for some individuals with extenuating circumstances to still obtain a library card in these circumstances.  Please contact the library for details.
